Banned toy gun sold on facebook

Certain types of toy guns are prohibited for sale in Mauritius. The import of such guns is not allowed.

Yet, one reader has sent us a screenshot of a Facebook page where he saw such an air gun posted for sale at Rs 1,500. In the comments section, the toy registered at least 30 orders from members of the public.

The reader says he called the Consumer Protection Unit to ask whether this type of gun is allowed for sale and they confirmed that it is a prohibited item in Mauritius and the reader was invited to make a formal complaint the Unit.
